Testing, analyzing and evaluating in AJZ-Engineering-planned national reference laboratories for:

  • Environmental protection
  • Agriculture
  • Foodstuff monitoring and consumer protection
  • Drug control
  • Cartography and surveying
  • forensic science and forensics
  • Infectious diseases

To be able to maintain control and monitoring schedules according to the principles of independence, transparency and quality and to ensure the protection of consumers, there must be governmental reference laboratories to deal with a wide range of work tasks. Audits, checks and inspections are performed on site and the results analyzed and evaluated in state-of-the-art laboratories.

As an example of our competence in the planning and equipment of reference laboratories we may cite the Thuringia Office for Customer Protection and Food Safety. In the given case, we provided a new building that combined all necessary facilities for food control, health protection of consumers, medical and veterinary examinations with a sophisticated laboratory complex in a single location.

The scope of project equipment included – among other items – special laboratories meeting increased safety standards (S1 to S3) for genetic investigations, diagnosis of animal diseases and zoonosis, as well as special procedures, for example, to test for and diagnose cases of mad-cow disease (BSE). An integral part of the project was a facility for keeping small domestic animals and a dissecting room for examination of large animals.
