Especially for robotic systems the modular BioShake 3000 series has been developed for heating, mixing and precise positioning of samples in tubes, glass vials and microplates that are in accordance with ANSI microplates specifications.
The modular BioShake 3000 series is only slightly larger than a standard microplate. With its patented vibration-free shaking the system can mix (BioShake 3000 elm) or mix and heat (BioShake 3000-T elm) samples in a wide variety of vessel types. It is completely equipped for hands-free operation with an extensive remote command set for easy software integration. The electronics are completely accommodated in the compact device housing. All models are compatible for use with SELMA 96 and GeneTheatre.

The BioShake 3000 series offers an ultra-efficient, 2-dimensional shaking axis so that samples mix completely in a fraction of the time of competing systems. The orbital shaking is precisely con- trolled, avoiding the need to spin down microplates or tubes after mixing. Even high density plates or low sample volumes represent no problem for these precision tools. Fully adjustable between 200 rpm and 3,000 rpm, well beyond the speeds of most other brands, guarantees fast and splatter-free mixing for tubes, glass vials or across an entire 1536 well microplate.
Temperature control
A large surface of specialized heating elements in BioShake 3000-T elm results in an even heat output at temperatures between ambient and 99 °C. Temperatures are selectable from ambient temperature to 99 °C in steps of 0.1 °C. The nominal regulation accuracy is better than ±0.1 °C with a uniformity of temperature distribution better than ±0.5 °C at 45 °C across the heating surface.
Edge Locking Mechanism (ELM)
Many robotic applications require precise dimensional spacing of pipette tips and robotic grippers relative to a microplate. ELM is an automated robotic plate positioning system for repeatable and accurate positioning of microplates. The 2-point electromechanical mechanism locks down microplates with irm diagonally-vectored pressure in the center of the module. This “universal” design is perfect for all types of plates: from low profile to deep well, from 96- to 1536 well. And when “locked” into place, the microplate varies by as little as ±0.1 mm.
Anti-Vibration-Technology
The integrated Anti-Vibration-Technology for the first time allows vibration-free shaking. Even very small volumes are mixed completely at high frequency in short time.
3D-Shake-Control
The new 3D-Shake-Control allows shaking of very small volumes in standardized 96 well, 384 well or 1536 well microplates in short time at up to 3,000 rpm.
Anti-Spill-Technology
Precisely controlled mixing prevents spilling and lid wetting, avoiding the need to spin down samples after mixing.
Adapter plates
BioShake 3000-T elm is compatible with a variety of standardised and specific adapter plates. The adapters allow an optimal it for standard tubes, lysis tubes, microplates, glass vials and other sample vessels. The adapter plates are optimized for an excellent heat transfer to the disposables and enhance the uniformity over all wells and the heat up time. The exchange of adapter plates can be performed very easily within one minute.
